Well, the World Series is over and not only is Joe the Plumber paying attention to the election, but so is Joe Sixpack. The everyday hardworking American who is striving not for a handout but a chance to pursue the American dream without government intervention.
Zogby has a new one-day poll today, and the last few days of the campaign is where you see these polling companies get their numbers tight because they do this for their livelihood and that cannot afford to be way off. Check out the headline from the Drudge Report:
ZOGBY: MCCAIN MOVES INTO LEAD 48-47 IN ONE DAY POLLING
ZOGBY SATURDAY: McCain outpolled Obama 48% to 47% in Friday, one day, polling. He is beginning to cut into Obama’s lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all…
If that wasn’t enough to make you go wow, listen to the audio file below that I received from my brother in Christ Ron Ferrante. This is from the Quinn & Rose show (just clink the link to listen):
Unbelievable!
WOW- New Jersey?! California?! That would be something! I hope these polls really are accurate. Go Vote People! BTW, Dave, the end of that clip. I really like the sound of Jindal/Palen or Palen/Jindal 2012! God Bless and thanks for something positive~ Carolyn
HAHAHAHAHAHA
No way this poll means anything..its going to be an Obama-Slide!!!
OK now reliable is that guy that called in with the poll numbers, I mean WOW New Jersey, are you freakin kidding me!! I hope to God those numbers are true. I would be SHOCKED if California went red, but maybe that is why Sarah came here about a month ago to Carson and I could not figure out why she would come to a state that would of course go Democrat, maybe they knew something, maybe they are focusing on some Dem states that Obama isn’t bothering with, Ok now to PA, McCain is up THAT much in PA, no freakin way, God I hope so, and as far as Michigan goes, WOW if that is true, WOW..Ok so how reliable is this guy, I don’t want to have all these warm fuzzy feelings if this is bogus
Oh, how I pray this is true! I have to say, though, that it is a bit too shocking. A 1 point gap in CA? That’s just…hard to believe. But, I’ll have the audacity to hope.
These alleged internal polls are crap.
But if they’re not crap, whoopee!
Obama is a Chicago con.
No experience.
Weirdo buddies.
McCain is a patriot.
Tons of experience.
Military men and reputable family.
Think about it.
can someone please tell me what the audio says..it will not work for me keeps shutting off..thanks
Thanks much, “Not your Sweetie” for bolstering the news from “Carl in Columbus” in the audio clip. Yes, it IS unbelievable but so was Ronaldus Magnus’ come-from-behind LANDSLIDE in 1980 (Thank God!). Can’t blame a single blogger here for any skepticism. The Enemedia has been doing its diabolically level best to discourage those of us who do NOT want to see a Communist in the White House. We’re not about to let down our guard. God bless you all!
Of course, these numbers look too good to be true. However, I’m optimitic. I was in San Diego for 2 weeks last month. There was a few pro-McCain ads and I couldn’t escape 0bama’s depressing ads any channel I tunned in. I wondered why would he spend big bucks to defend CA? He has lots of cash but to spend it in CA? I might be wrong, please somebody from CA can explain it better.
McCain/Palin signs were out numbered Obama’s signs as I drove around. Of course, it’s a pro-military town but something wasn’t right.
I think Latino Americans will break toward McCain. The church leaders understand that McCain always has a good intention when it’s come to immigration “We’re all God’s children” and the pro-life movement is subtle but huge among church goers.
McCain is very favorable among Asian communities especially the Vietnamese community. Most of the Vietnamese in the US because they fought communism. McCain fought with them and Obama is clearly a Marxist/socialist/communist.
great news, thanks for the lift
I have no problem seeing this happening, HILLARY BASE is going to swing to MAC/PALIN
I have believed it from the beginning and adding Sarah only sealed the deal
no way does the DEM base elect a newbie with radical associates in an economic tsunami, and two wars
no frakkin way
we go MAC/PALIN
W00T!!
now everyone GOTV like crazy :0)
It’s very encouraging, but who is the person “Carl” that called in? Someone reliable? Or just some unknown caller pulling our leg? I live in California and there is just absolutely no way the race is within a point here. This is Obamaland for sure. I wish it wasn’t. The numbers are just too out of whack. But I’m open to be persuaded if you can tell me something about Carl.
I’m wondering if this isn’t a GOP psy-op. These numbers just can’t be right.
I cannot speak for all Californians, but as a life long Dem, I will be voting McCain/Palin on Tuesday. I cannot condone what the Dem party did to Hillary, and I believe that BO would be disasterous for this country. He had no business running with such a thin resume, and when you add all of his nefarious friends, it’s a no brainer. So, it is country first, party second. Since, this will be the first time that I have voted Republican at this level, I do not think I am unique. In fact, I know of at least 10 Dems or former Dems, who will be voting for McCain. I have to believe that there are more of us than they realize. I pray to God, that these numbers are correct.
Folks, it’s going to be an Obama victory, and possibly a landslide. Please stop drinking the sugary stuff and focus on reality instead.
Obama is up 10 in the Gallup poll today, and by mid to high single digits in other national polls. In state polls, he’s ahead where he needs to be ahead.
The cake is baked.
The link seems to be broken, I don’t hear anything.
The electricians union in Philly is handing out MP3 players to 3000 members with a BO message to vote for him. If he was doing so well with union members, why is he buying them MP3 players?
You sure are good at word play, Dave 🙂 ! “McMentum”
I have listened to Jim Quinn for over 10 years in Pittsburgh, PA. He is an icon in Pittsburgh since his KQV days as a DJ in the early 70’s. He was reborn in the 90’s as a right wing Art Bell show. It is entertaining and I listen to his show every day.
Unfortunately, you need to treat his show like Art Bell’s show… with grain of salt….
Jim’s sources also had McCain picking Romney as VP…
To Brian,
………..and then you woke up!
Joe E.,
Not only did Quinn’s sources have McCain picking Romney as VP, but so also did everyone else’s. You’ll have to come up with a better one than that.
Hey, when Florio raised taxes, Jersey voted for Whitman, twice…(turned into a long 8 years, too)….I’m in NM now, where absentee voting here in So. NM is really screwed up already!! McCain has to do well here to offset Santa Fe…
Josh, which Gallup sample is that? They’re screwing around with THEIR sampling, too!
Not a lot of polling companies like to do polling this close to election because it gets sketchy.
More power to you, but a one day poll isn’t something I’d hang my hat on.
I live in CA, Bay area. i agree it’s hard to believe the CA numbers unless LA, San Diego and all the central valley are overwhelming McC/P…. or UNLESS all the McC voters are a totally silent majority due to the overwhelmingly “in-your-face” Obamamaniacs…
If California was as this “internal” says then obama would be spending every one of his dimes and days there. NJ always flirts with the GOP candidate until the vote and then goes Democratic by wide margins. In short, these “internals” would be nice if even clost to the truth, but they aren’t. BTW: this whole thing presumes that the Obama pollsters are deaf, dumb, blind and stupid. Do you really think they are?
No wonder you guys get ripped off by TV shysters.
Not a shred of statistical data is provided. While your at it Put McCain ahead among Black voters by 2 or 3 percentage points.
This guy might have creditability. I am originally from out west. In California there is a gay marriage ballot amendment that voters are voting on there. This law was originally was overruled by the either the Federal Court or State Supreme Court. People are angry about (against it). I think they even pi****off the most liberal state in the union. Sounds counterinitutive but they are conservative about some things. I cannot speak about the other states (in terms of the polling) but California I can with some certainty. By the way, Dems think about this. Now that Fox got that book Ayers made the dedication to Sirhan Sirhan in. Did you ever think that the Kennedy’s might be pi**** off at Obama. Afterall Kennedy gave an early endorsement to him. If you look at the Boston Globe I thought they have been pretty tough on Obama. Maybe Kennedy is spreading the word quietly that Obama isn’t his boy anymore. Good for them (Obama) maybe the landside is coming but not for Obama. By the way McCain did a great job on Saturday Night Live and SNL lampooned the DA from MSNBC Olbermann. Finally they show the jerk that he is.
I see you haven’t mentioned Zogby’s news from yesterday:
Released: November 02, 2008
Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby Poll: One Day Is Not A Trend: Obama Holds His Lead
Obama 49.5%, McCain 43.8%
This is all just wishful thinking from people with their heads in the sand. Sorry people, but you’re going down big time! Stop the hate or get of town. It’s time.
Just chiming in from California. I live in Los Angeles. There is no way McCain is within single digits here. I spent a good part of the weekend with friends from all over the country who have moved to Los Angeles (some from Texas, some from Alabama) with all sorts of professions — stocks, legal, computer — and of both genders and different ages and races. Among the 10 of us? Not a single McCain supporter.
However, I think McCain is popular in Orange County and some of the desert regions. I have relatives in Orange County and Riverside, and they are supporting McCain. It really does seem that there is a divide between the big cities and areas away from the metropolitan centers. I think the cities do attract the more liberal of us; but there are plenty of people in other areas, so it may not be so lopsided if the people in smaller communities vote in large numbers. I believe the conservative votes in the other communites will turn up this year because of the gay marriage proposition.
Interesting comments about the gay marriage proposition. It’s been reported that the ban on gay marriage may pass because so many blacks and Latinos are expected to vote this cycle, and homosexuality is usually frowned upon in those communities.
Unlike others, though, I don’t believe the Latinos in California will break for Mccain. The issue of health insurance is so very pressing here, and many Latinos lack adequate insurance.
I don’t know much about Vietnamese voters, but I think the biggest population of Vietnamese in California is in Orange County.
Thanks for letting me chime in with my observations — even though it seems I am voting for the less popular candidate on this site. I just wanted to give a short and, hopefully, objective opinion of how I see the race shaping up in California.
MICHIGAN is a TOUGH one..I am finding it difficult to believe that it will fall into McCains Corner..BUT hey, there is always HOPE! Maybe my fellow Michiganders arent as dumb as I THOUGHT they were…
east end wrote, “If California was as this ‘internal’ says then obama would be spending every one of his dimes and days there.”
Not necessarily. First, Obama may not have the same info. These are GOP internals. Second, I believe that Obama’s campaign knows that things are hopeless for them UNLESS they can convince McCain supporters not to turn out.
Thus, Obama pretends to expand his campaign into more red states in the last few days. It’s just carrying out a psychological operation on a desperate hope. Why do you think that Obama tells every person at every rally to find 5 other people to vote for him? Because that’s what it would take for him to win, and he knows it.
I think it’s quite likely that there is a “silent majority” that is about to reject Obama big time.
Ok folks it turned out that the “internals” were just propaganda, the rest was just fluffy spin.
It may have been propaganda, but I suspect the intent was to counteract the propaganda from the polls of other side which were predicting a landslide instead of a 51 to 48 close call.
Watch the way the media will soon begin to smear Palin to keep her from running again in 4 years. She is a young, female Regan.
Sarah in 2012!
