Steve Deace

Here is the first installment of what will be many segments that I am developing from the podcast of Steve Deace of Newsradio 1040 WHO in Des Moines, Iowa. I’ve segmented the podcast to help you follow along the reasoning that has caused our eyes to be blurred by our mind. You can hear the entire podcast by hitting this link and either listen to it online or download it to your computer.

I want to set up the crux of this series by your listening to the following of what I consider Steve’s analysis of the task at hand.

I want to see a conservative resurgence to the Republican Party take place. The time to begin the hard work is past over. We have sat back and been told that we have to vote for the lesser of two evils if we’re going to save this country.

Let me ask you something: “How’s that been working out for you so far?”

I know many people believe it is time for a third party; I for one want to take back the Republican Party. That is what I wrote of in “It’s My Party” and I am personally involved in working to see this conservative resurgence to fruition.

But if we are even going to attempt this resurgence, we need to understand what we are up against.

This realization is going to mean that many of our “heroes” may be toppled.

Let it be known for me there are no “sacred cows” in the Republican Party or the Conservative Movement. Truth, biblical truth, is what has to drive this movement.

In that light, we need to first listen to a principle known as 80/20 that is being perpetrated on us by Republican Party elites, and it is being done so by none other than Ronald Reagan’s son Michael.

Listen here to Michael’s explanation:

Michael Reagan’s 80/20

Now Michael’s explanation is very politically pragmatic.

But is it biblical?

Does the 80/20 rule apply regardless or is there a such thing as first principles?

A caller by the name of Vicky addresses this; we’ll hear her explanation tomorrow.

Think of yours in light of the Scripture passage below:

“Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:14-15)
