Phil RobertsonI wanted to share with all you what I posted to my social sites since many of you do not follow me on Facebook or Twitter:

While we must show Christian love to homosexuals, we cannot allow them to control the debate. Phil Robertson’s comments were not anti-gay. And I find it ironic that anatomically describing heterosexual and homosexual sex is considered crude, while the vileness of open homosexuality is considered an alternative lifestyle.

Let’s be clear, we must be loving but we must stand on the truth. Too much of the former is sugar water and too much of the latter is a sledgehammer.

Nevertheless, when we speak the Word of God publicly, it will NEVER, as in EVER, be acceptable to a depraved society. The Word of God will always be offensive to those lost in their sin. It was to me before I got saved and no doubt to many of you. However, that does not give us license to be offensive.

“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” (Matthew 11:6, Luke 7:23)
“When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, ‘Does this offend you?’” (John 6:61)
