Well this post is about sports in one light but about life in the bigger scope. Tim Tebow, quarterback for the University of Florida Gators football team is the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. The Heisman is awarded to the best college football player in the country. What makes Tim Tebow a good guy is not that he won the Heisman Trophy, but how he accepted the award. Please watch the video below of his acceptance speech:
Wow! How many complaints do you think there will be for his open thanks and acknowledgement to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Was Tim Tebow saying he won the Heisman Trophy because he is a Christian? I wonder what Mr. Krauthammer would say of Tebow’s open profession of faith?
I say God bless you young man; well done!
Go Gators! Sorry Dave, I couldn’t get the video tonight, but from your post- I get the message. To me, it reminds me of the two coaches from last year’s Super Bowl- both men are devout Christians, and made no bones about that fact- and that Jesus played center on both teams(Pun intended). I don’t really watch football (baseball’s always been my sport) but I noticed the fact that some people made a big stink about these two men professing their faith in Christ the way they did, but other media sources ignored or cut out any Jesus references. It’s a pity. You know, I used to watch the country music awards a lot on TV whenever they rolled around- and it always made me happy to see so many country music stars dedicate their award or at least thank Jesus Christ, and recognise Him as their source of talent. God Bless Dave- Carolyn
It was indeed refreshing to hear a young man of such talent express his gratitude to the giver of life. we would all be better off if we had this young man’s attitude.
God Bless,
Cliff
