    Mr. Jeffers I am so sorry to hear about your son’s death. I wrote Eddie after reading “Hope Rides Alone” and you responded very kindly. Your son was a remarkable man and so are you. I have added you and your family (and particularly Eddie’s wife) to my prayers.

    Mr. Jeffers,
    My prayers go out to you and your family for the loss of your son. Tears came to my eyes when I read what your son wrote and when I saw he is the same age as my oldest son who is in college. I cried because I could not stand the thought of losing my son and I cried and prayed for you because you lost your son. He is an American hero and I am proud to read his thoughts. My son, although not in the military, has friends that do serve and he is a strong supporter of our military; unlike some misguided people in our country both young and old. I will remember you family in my prayers and I will pray the sting of death is lightnened by God. I will pray for the soul of your son. May God be with Eddie, you and your family. Chris Speros
