Looking Towards Heaven in 2011 – It Is Set Before Us

Many people are looking at the date December 21, 2012 for a time where great change will come. This is based of the ancient Mayan calendar ending on that date. There is actually a website titled “Survive 2012”.

Absolute Truth – To Set At Liberty Those Who Are Oppressed

We have looked at absolute truth—the aletheia truth—and we see that Jesus has taught us we can know it and that we can be set free by it. It was His mission…it is the Christmas Story!

Absolute Truth – The Truth Both Heals and Nourishes

How many of you know what the Hyde Amendment is? Oh, you’ve heard of it, but do you know what it is? It is named after the late Republican Congressman Henry Hyde of Illinois. In a nutshell, by manipulative law, it says not only can you kill your unborn baby if you were raped or conceived in incest, or a doctor certifies your life may be in danger, but also WE the People of the United States through our elected officials and tax dollars will pay for that abortion.

Absolute Truth – The Pulpit Is Responsible For It

I was having lunch with brother in Christ on Monday, and I’ve shared this with my Sunday school class before, but if I had to guess if God would save America I would guess no. Can He do it? Of course He can! He is omnipotent.

This Will Be Their Great Security

In case you were never taught this in government schools, today is the 237th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. A Massachusetts colonist resistance group known as the Sons of Liberty, lead by Samuel Adams, disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and dumped 342 chests of British tea into the harbor. This was in protest to the British Parliament’s Tea Act of 1773, which was basically the government cornering the market on tea.

The Capacity of Mankind

Two hundred twenty-nine (229) years ago today the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the US Constitution, was ratified by the last state, Virginia. The Bill of Rights is a magnificent document, an integral part to our Charters of Freedom. I cannot help but believe that these 10 amendments were presented in order of importance rather than some random selection. I believe each builds on the next succeeding amendment ending at the tenth which says simply: Continue reading “The Capacity of Mankind”

His Justice Cannot Sleep Forever

Should evangelical politics be partisan? If truth be told all politics are partisan; we align with those of like values. Fathers Bury Their Sons

Sixty-nine years ago today the Japanese launched, what was believed to be impossible, a surprise attack on the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Part-time Praiser

Is that you? Are you a part-time praiser. Is praise merely singing songs? If I could change church I would change the music portion of service from “praise and worship time” to…well…the music portion of our praise and worship service. Praise and worship time in almost every church in America must include and in most cases, is exclusively music. That’s sad.
