Why is our nation in the state it is? Many blame this political party while that party blames the other party. The church blames the atheists and the atheists blame the church. Seems like there’s a lot of finger-pointing going on these days. The concept of personal responsibility long ago left American society with Dr. Spock’s admonition to not spank children, the government enabling bad personal behavior, and the mainstreaming of immorality, just to name a few.
Many people are looking at the date December 21, 2012 for a time where great change will come. This is based of the ancient Mayan calendar ending on that date. There is actually a website titled “Survive 2012”.
“Then they journeyed from Bethel. And when there was but a little distance to go to Ephrath, Rachel labored in childbirth, and she had hard labor. Now it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, ‘Do not fear; you will have this son also.’ And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin. So Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem). And Jacob set a pillar on her grave, which is the pillar of Rachel’s grave to this day.” (Genesis 35:16-20)
If Jacob and Rachel were living in the 21st Century and had the wonders of science at their disposal, it is not too far-fetched to imagine that doctors may have predicted Rachel’s death. Doctors may have been able to warn the couple that if the baby was allowed to come to term that Jacob’s beloved Rachel would most likely die in childbirth.
It’s time to clear something up. I’m talking about the meaning for being pro-life. The proponents of the current Stupak and Nelson amendments to the proposed health care bill in the House and the Senate, respectively, are being touted as ending all federal funding for elective abortions. Notice those last two words; elective abortions.
What does that mean? It means that there will always be an exception that exists in the coveted Hyde Amendment, which says:
Folks, if you remember the coverage of the Fort Hood shootings, you saw a media, including FOXNews with Shepard Smith primarily, refusing to call the attack was it was.
As many of you know and some are planning to attend, there is going to be a massive Tea Party Rally in Washington D.C. on September 12th initiated by Glenn Beck’s 9/12 Project.

A couple of days ago I wrote a somewhat blistering commentary on National Review Online’s editorial on the Barack Obama birth certificate controversy.
My intent on writing “NRO – No Real Obligation” was to ensure my readers and those of National Review Online understood the difference between a CERTIFICATION of Birth which Obama has released and the long-form CERTIFICATE of Birth that he has protected at all costs.
One of my favorite Founding Father quotes is from Samuel Adams:
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!”
My good friend Lance Fairchok has written on American Thinker a scathing article of the same title as this post. Lance takes to task the conservative elitism of Washington D.C.
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.” 1 Corinthians 4:5
(Hat tip to both Dick Mahlum and Joe Richardson for sending this to me)
THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT’S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I’LL VOTE FOR HIM. (These words are from the original email, not Dave)
I’ve been somewhat of a fan of Camille Paglia’s for some time now. Her latest column at Salon.com is a collection of answers to emails she received. Now mind you she is quite liberal in her political leanings, but she is far and wide one of the most intellectually honest journalists in print. It would be nice to see this level of candor from both sides of the political spectrum and in between, both in media and with our politicians.
Read Palin’s Failin’ and then please return to this post:
This is as pathetic as anything I’ve seen Peggy Noonan write. I used to greatly admire her work; I still do her old stuff. Her biography on Reagan “When Character Was King” is her seminal work. However, from her and the rest of the northeastern conservative elites with their hidden resentment of us folks who drop their “g’s” when we talk is castigated not because we don’t like caviar or sip champagne, it’s because we don’t speak like adults in public.
One of the reasons I can rarely stomach Hannity and Colmes is the incessant and nonsensical political bickering that goes on this show. Now I understand it is a political debate show, but just once I would love to see Alan Colmes have an original thought where he actually speaks contemporaneously without looking at his Democratic talking points. Well none other than Dick Morris called Colmes on this very thing in H&C’s past VP debate show. I might actually watch this more often if this happened more often.
Okay, I want to share a video with you that is, as my pastor likes to say, “chock-a-block” with information. This YouTube video crams as much information as possible into the allowed ten minutes for each posted video and a lot of information comes and goes on the screen. Just pause the video and read and take note of the information. Please pass this along to as many people as you can.
Okay, so vacation is over and I’m ready to spend the next 39 days doing the political equivalent of battle royale. As my friend JB Williams describes them, the left-wing lamestream press is constitutionally negligent of their civic duty to investigate and hold accountable those who seek our highest office. That’s okay because we have the new media, led by the New Media Journal, and great writers such as JB. Please read his latest piece titled “Guilt by Association?” at the NMJ. While you’re there read his last piece titled “A Congressional Rich White Guy Caucus?” For those of you locally here in the Florida Panhandle who enjoy JB’s work you missed one great speech from him last Saturday night at Eddie’s banquet.
Speaking of great writers of NMJ and someone who spoke at the banquet, Florida Panhandle’s very own Lance Fairchok has a blistering piece on NMJ titled “The Media & Race: Getting It Wrong” and Lance exposes the overused and misused term “racism.” Here’s an excerpt:
Now I gave credit for Senator Obama’s forceful and forthright denunciation of the rumors being spread about Sarah Palin and her family. KUDOS!
But Bill O’Reilly made an excellent point (hey, even a broke clock is right twice a day!).
Barack Obama came out today and denounced the sick rumors being spread about Sarah Palin and her daughter. I thank Senator Obama for his forthrightness. Here’s the article:
I want to see if Barack Obama actually has the character he says he has. I want to see Barack Obama come out today and denounce the filthy, disgusting innuendos and lies about Sarah Palin and her 16 year old daughter.
What say you Barack Obama? Are you the “man” you would have America believe you are, or will your cowardice and lust for power not allow you to rebuke your base?
