My fellow Americans, I think it is safe to say that most of you are not completely well-versed in our form of government. If you are under forty years old and went to a public school therein lies most of your problem.
Whenever I have a conversation, aka debate, with a liberal one of the quickest ways to earn his or her ire is to tell said liberal that Democrats not only do not trust Americans to spend our own hard-earned cash, but they also believe the government, Big Government, knows best how to spend your cash.
I hear guffaws and harrumphs from the likes of Alan Colmes, Bob Bechtel, and Susan Estrich that “the old-tired, warn out liberals are trying to steal your money” argument just doesn’t hold water. We are told that the Democrats are the party of the people.
I was asked by a caller this morning to publish today’s daily devotional on my blog so here it is:
A New Beginning
Today we inaugurate Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America. This makes the 44th time in our great history that power is willingly handed over from one man to another. Many people are praying for Barack Obama to be successful; I am not doing so in an unattached manner. I do not approve of his agenda but God has seen fit to allow this man to lead our nation. Others are praying that President Obama fails; I will not do that either because his fall will be cushioned by our country. So I will pray that he surrenders his life to Jesus Christ and/or he is influenced by godly men and women such as Daniel of the Old Testament influenced pagan kings.
Yesterday was a significant day for the Jeffers’ Family and many of you played a large part in it. Ground was finally broke for the new Fisher House of the Emerald Coast on Eglin Air Force Base here in NW Florida. The wonderful and giving community here has already donated tens of thousands of dollars to support this wonderful charity. Nearly eight thousand dollars has been given in memory of Sergeant Eddie Jeffers. We are so grateful to all of you and know that our Fisher House here in the Florida Panhandle will be a home away from home for our precious military families.
To piggyback on my last post, it seems that if someone steals during economic hard times it is the result of “survival panic.” Leave it to a psychiatrist to come up with this doozie.
“Your honor, my client, while he indeed did take items from Krogers it was not because he is a thief, it is because he had a panic attack,” presents the attorney, psychiatrist nodding in the afirmative.
