A Student of History

A very interesting commentary I found on Pamela Geller’s Atlas Shrugs that was linked from Pat Dollard’s blog. Before you give into the urge to scoff, remember these words of warning from the Apostle Paul to Timothy over two thousand years ago:

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (2 Timothy 3:1-7)

Veterans Day

The Jeffers Family would like to send its love and heartfelt thanks to all our wonderful veterans, past and present, who have willingly served and sacrificed to bring liberty not only to this great nation, but also to freedom-loving peoples across the world.

Our hearts are especially full for those and their families “who gave the last full measure.” May the Lord bring you a peace and pride that comes from selfless service and sacrifice.

Proud Aunt and Uncle

Folks, Karen and I could not be prouder to see the wonderful gospel group InnerFire reaching new heights of success. Bernie and Faith Joyner, and Scotty and Johnna Carroll are the heart and soul of InnerFire. While Scotty is in the background running the sound and bringing God’s message during their intermission, InnerFire is Bernie, Faith, and Johnna blending their beautiful vocals.

They have already been interviewed numerous time, including our own Greg Allen of The Right Balance, and now they have their first video interview. Check out the YouTube below and if the short lady in the middle of the video looks somewhat familiar that is because those of you who know Karen there is a striking resemblance. Faith is the daughter of Karen’s brother Randy Ritchie and his wife Barbara. Faith’s husband Bernie is one of the Timothy’s in my life and I love him like a son.

The One

Here is the latest John McCain ad and it is a very good one. Pass this far and wide; Barack Obama has an amazingly narcissistic opinion of himself. As a self-described Christian, you would think the junior senator of Illinois would remember Philippians 2:3 (NIV):

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.”

Automatically Under Suspicion

I remember watching Hannity and Colmes last year when the Reverend Jeremiah Wright was a guest and Sean Hannity was trying to question the senior pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ. Reverend Wright asked Hannity if he had read any of Dr. James Cone and others books on black liberation theology and implied if Hannity had not then he could not really question the reverend.

I took the liberty of ordering three of Dr. Cone’s book and just finished reading Black Power and Black Theology and I’ve written a column about it at the New Media Journal. It is titled “Automatically Under Suspicion” and I would encourage you to send it to all the Obama mice.

The Love of a Father

Yesterday was 10 months to the day we lost Eddie. I love my son with a love unexplainable. I read about it in the Bible, but the Heavenly Father’s love for His Only Begotten Son makes my love for Eddie seem so small. And then there is the love of an earthly father who would do anything for his earthly son. This video shows such a love.

Please pass this on.
