OH YEAH, WELL BARACK OBAMA HAS SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“We will immediately consult with our allies in the region, including Japan and the Republic of Korea, and members of the U.N. Security Council to bring this matter before the Council. I urge North Korea to abide fully by the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council and to refrain from further provocative actions…This provocation underscores the need for action, not just this afternoon at the UN Security Council, but in our determination to prevent the spread of these weapons…Rules must be binding, violations must be punished, words must mean something. The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons. Now is the time for a strong international response.â€
In light of such a forceful response, Kim Jong-il called for an immediate meeting with his military advisors:
“No Mr. President, you just read from this screen as though you are talking directly to the people. We will have your response crawl across the screen as you read it. Mr. President, all the world leaders are using these now.”
Obama’s forceful response inspired two Asian leaders to break out their tele…um, to release the following stern statements:
South Korean foreign minister, Yu Myung Hwan
“This government and the international community is deeply disappointed that the North went ahead with the long-range missile at the enormous cost that could resolve its chronic food shortage…The government is stepping up readiness in response to any provocation by the North and is taking specific actions against this launch together with the United Nations and related countries.â€
Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso
“It is an extremely provocative action. Japan can never overlook it.â€
