Aletheia is a Greek philosophical word that means truthfulness that corresponds to reality. This means we can trust Biblical, aletheia, truth because it is true and it is real. It is undeniable. Do people deny this truth? Of course, but it does not make it any less true.
Why is that? Because God is the Author of aletheia truth. God is Truth.
The Apostle John described our Lord Jesus Christ thusly:
-
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.†(John 1:14)
If America ever needed anything it is a great measure of God’s grace and His Truth. We have that in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Savior was and is fully qualified to be our Advocate before the throne of God. Our accuser Satan always brings charges against the brethren, and might I add, often the Devil tells the truth about us.
If I were to listen to much of what I hear today, mankind is lost beyond all hope of rescue. There is no man or woman worthy of representing our nation, no one worthy of serving in public office. Some of this skepticism is warranted, however I’m beginning to believe too many of us are looking for perfection in man. Again, there are first principles that must be defended, but I’m to the point where I believe these first principles need to be re-taught, or more accurately, taught for the first time. That is one of the goals of Aletheia Group L.L.C.
Jesus never looked to man for perfection; Jesus fully expected us to fail. Why? Because we already had and have countless times. Jesus did not trust man and yet He entrusted man with His Church. He did this even though He knew what was in man’s heart:
-
“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.†(John 2:23-25)
Jesus trusted His Father. He had no need of man’s testimony; He has no need of us to further His Kingdom and yet He gives His disciples the privilege of being harvesters. It’s important to remember that although Jesus did not trust man, His distrust did not manifest itself as it does in mortal man. Oswald Chambers explains:
-
Our Lord trusted no man; yet He was never suspicious, never bitter, never in despair about any man, because He put God first in trust; He trusted absolutely in what God’s grace could do for any man. If I put my trust in human beings first, I will end in despairing of everyone; I will become bitter, because I have insisted on man being what no man ever can be – absolutely right. Never trust anything but the grace of God in yourself or in anyone else.
If you look at the presidential field of declared candidates, possible candidates, wannabe candidates, whatever candidates, everyone of them who have served in public office have compromised on life at least once in their careers. That means the only choice we have, if a candidate’s past is automatic disqualification, is to trust someone who says they won’t compromise on life. Now of course we’ve been promised in the past, but oh my new candidate says this and that and that he or she will never compromise on life.
Beloved, you…Y-O-U, cannot say that with 100% certainty. You do not know for a fact that you would never cave under the pressure to compromise, to get “the best deal possibleâ€, or to work incrementally to protect life.
Now before I lose you, I am in no way excusing any elected official for failing to uphold their constitutional duty to protect life first and foremost. What I am suggesting is that our culture has become so polluted by stinking thinking that we must overcome the lies that have been perpetrated upon the masses in the areas of life, traditional family, finances, and foreign policy, just to name a few.
The enemies of God have been working tirelessly for over a century to disconnect our culture from its traditional Christian foundation and absolute truth…aletheia truth. And all the while that has been going on, we who are supposed to be on the vanguard for truth have been giving up right ground for far too long.
It is time to reeducate the Church so it can be revived. It was the Church that gave up right ground and it is the Church that will take it back and restore our nation. And this can only be accomplished through God’s grace.
Our Lord Jesus Christ knew this…
…and we better learn it too…
…and fast.
In Christ
Dave
